Hvorerpengene.no viser hvor de offentlige pengene går: hva stat, fylker og kommuner bruker penger på, og hvor pengene havner. Siden er gratis, uavhengig og har ingen innlogging.
Hvor kommer tallene fra?
Alle tall kommer fra offentlige kilder, først og fremst Statistisk sentralbyrå (SSB). I tillegg brukes statsregnskapet fra DFØ, Finansdepartementet, Stortinget, Kommunal- og distriktsdepartementet (ROBEK), UDI, Kripos, Norges Bank og Norges Bank Investment Management (Oljefondet), og OECD (bistand). Kartgrunnlaget er fra Kartverket og Natural Earth.
Tallene hentes automatisk fra kildene den 3. hver måned. Hvert tall har et kildemerke. Trykk på det for å se tabellen hos kilden og laste ned rådataene som JSON eller CSV.
Beregninger og forbehold
Noen tall regner siden ut selv, for eksempel kroner per innbygger, andeler, aldersjusterte sammenligninger og enkelte anslag. Det står alltid i merknaden ved tallet hvordan det er regnet, og hva tallet ikke viser. Finner du en feil, vil vi gjerne høre om det.
Nøytralitet
Siden tar ikke politisk stilling. Ingen partier eller organisasjoner står bak eller betaler for den. Målet er å vise tallene som de er, med de forbeholdene kildene selv tar, så hver enkelt kan gjøre seg opp sin egen mening.
Finansiering
Siden har i dag ingen reklame og får ingen støtte. Kommer det reklame senere, blir den tydelig merket som annonse, og annonsører får ingen innflytelse på innholdet eller tallene.

Cloudflare er databehandler for oss, og overføring til USA skjer etter EU–US Data Privacy Framework og EUs standardavtaler. Vi bruker ikke disse opplysningene til å identifisere besøkende eller lage statistikk om enkeltpersoner.
Skrifter, skript og data lastes fra hvorerpengene.no selv. Ingen andre selskaper, som Google, får vite at du besøker siden.

Hvorerpengene.no («Where is the money?») shows where Norway's public money goes: what the state, counties and municipalities spend money on, and where it ends up. The site is free, independent and has no login.
Where do the figures come from?
All figures come from public sources, mainly Statistics Norway (SSB). The site also uses the central government accounts from DFØ, the Ministry of Finance, the Storting, the Ministry of Local Government (ROBEK), UDI, Kripos, Norges Bank and Norges Bank Investment Management (the oil fund), and the OECD (foreign aid). Map data is from the Norwegian Mapping Authority and Natural Earth.
The figures are retrieved automatically from the sources on the 3rd of every month. Every figure has a source label. Tap it to see the table at the source and download the raw data as JSON or CSV.
Calculations and caveats
Some figures are calculated by the site, such as NOK per inhabitant, shares, age-adjusted comparisons and some estimates. The note next to the figure always explains how it was calculated and what it does not show. If you find an error, please let us know.
Neutrality
The site takes no political position. No party or organisation is behind it or pays for it. The aim is to show the figures as they are, with the caveats the sources themselves make, so everyone can form their own opinion.
Funding
The site currently has no advertising and receives no support. If advertising is added later, it will be clearly labelled, and advertisers will have no influence on the content or the figures.

What is stored in your browser?
The site remembers a few choices in your browser (local storage) so you do not have to make them again: language, light or dark theme, whether you prefer «In brief» or «All figures», whether the panel is open, whether the map shows counties or municipalities, and whether you have seen the introduction. This stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can delete it by clearing the site data for hvorerpengene.no in your browser.
Location
On «My municipality» you can press «Find my municipality». Your browser then asks whether you want to share your location. The location is only used in your browser to find which municipality you are in. It is not sent to us or anyone else, and it is not stored.
Hosting and technical data
The site is delivered by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). To deliver the site and protect it against attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP address, browser type and time. Cloudflare is our data processor, and transfers to the USA take place under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the EU standard contractual clauses. We do not use this information to identify visitors or to build statistics about individuals.
Fonts, scripts and data are loaded from hvorerpengene.no itself. No other companies, such as Google, learn that you visit the site.
Email
If you send us an email, it is only used to reply to you and is deleted when the matter is closed.
